Kat WorthKat Worth has over 19 years experience working as a choreographer and director with professionals and communities. Kat was founder director of Company CHAOS and was the artistic director for Restless Dance Company 2001-2006 and directed The Dance of Life as part of The Singing of Angels, Starry Eyed, Sustenance (co direction) and Unspoken Outloud as part of Vocabulary, a collaboration with Australian Dance Theatre. During her time as Restless AD, Kat developed Growth Spurt, a movement and music program for young children with developmental delay. Kat continues to lead Growth Spurt workshops for the company as well as directing and producing dance projects with communities and people of all ages, cultural backgrounds, abilities and disabilities, across drug and alcohol, health, education and justice settings. Her dance film Sixteen won best film at the 2010 ReelDance awards and continues to screen and win awards internationally as part of the Necessary Games Tryptich. In 2009 she was artistic director on Stage Stories, a cross cultural performance for the Marion Celebrates festival and directed and produced My favourite Things, an Arts in Health dance-music-film project with Flinders Medical Centre. In 2010 Kat directed a new dance film Sleep Disorder in collaboration with film makers Danimations and Justin McGuiness. In 2011 Kat is working with Southern Youth Theatre Ensemble as a Dramaturg on their Come Out production, Steam Island and will be an Artist in Residence at Acacia Hill Primary School in Alice Springs. |
