Matthew Shilcock

Matthew has a disability called osteogenesis imperfecta, which is a medical condition that weakens the bones. He has been interested in the performing arts most of his life and during his school years was involved with several drama groups and improvisation clubs. In the last two years his interest in performing has been spiked and he is working towards penetrating the film and acting community, which is as vastly spread as vegemite on a beach ball. Matthew is a graduate of the Growing the Garden program at No Strings Attached Theatre of Disability. His initial steps with Restless were taken during a weekend residency led by Rawcus’ Artistic Director Kate Sulan. Next of Kin was his debut performance with the company in 2010. He returned in 2011 for Take Me There as part of the Come Out Festival and joined the new Touring Company cast for the first stage development of In-habit as an artist in residence at Arthur Boyd’s property, Bundanon. Matt will join the education team for the SCOSA project and is part of the Dot to Dot project.
