Nigel Major-HendersonNigel has been in a number of dance works at Adelaide College of the Arts choreographed by Peter Sheedy, Daniel Jaber, Jo Stone, Aidan Kane-Munn, Zaimon Vilmanis and Xiao-Xiong Zhang. In 2008 he was a part of the Adelaide’s season of Petrouchka with the Australian Ballet and the following year choreographed his first work Everybody should move! for Ausdance SA’s May season of Choreolab. In 2010 he was a part of the Adelaide and Melbourne seasons of Superheroes by Stone/Castro Productions. That year he choreographed a show within Adelaide College of the Arts called If you quack in the dark the cannibal won’t eat you. 2010 also saw Nigel graduate from the course with a Bachelor in Dance Performance. In 2011 he choreographed and danced in a show for the 3-night season of the October Choreolab called Humans are like sharks: if we don’t move we drown in air. He also began studying for his Masters in Teaching through Uni SA, so far teaching at Mount Gambier and Craigmore High Schools. He choreographed a part of the 2011 Woodville High School Rock Eisteddford performance. He attended the Restless Central workshop program throughout 2011 and was invited to perform in Andrew Pandos’ Operation Bear Trap… Rumbling! for the Debut 3 – the dancers direct season. Nigel’s joins the Youth Ensemble and guests for the Company’s major production for 2012, Howling Like a Wolf. |
