Astrid PillAstrid Pill joined Restless Dance Theatre in 1996 and during her five years with the company performed in many shows including Talking Down, Establishment, Sex Juggling, The Flight and Perfect Match. She also worked as a tutor and community arts director on workshop programs such as Vividaha – diversity, Kin, Home and Growth Spurt. While Astrid’s main focus was Drama as part of her Bachelor of Arts Degree at Adelaide University she considers her time with Restless to have made up a large part of her training as a performer and arts worker in general. She has since focussed on working as a performer in devised new works with companies and independent artists including Ladykillers, Ingrid Voorendt, Vitals, Patch Theatre Company and Daisy Brown. She is a founding member of Ladykillers along with Ingrid Voorendt, Zoe Barry and Gaelle Mellis. The four largely met and developed working relationships with each other through their work at Restless Dance Theatre. They have created, performed and toured the award winning Cake as well as Lullaby, The Pyjama Girl and Based on a True Story. Astrid is also a singer and has a strong interest in making and performing work for children. |
