Restless Dance Theatre in association with Adelaide Festival Centre’s inSPACE program brings a range of alternative visions of feminine beauty to the stage, which challenge the daily barrage of media images in the emotive and cerebral world premiere of Beauty.
Directed by acclaimed director and former Restless Dance Theatre Artistic Director, Ingrid Voorendt, Beauty is inspired by the work of Grace Coddington and Bill Henson. Featuring five female dancers it investigates notions of beauty, in relation and response to visual art and representations of the female body, classical sculpture and baroque music.
Beauty premiered at the Space Theatre Adelaide Festival Centre 2 – 10 July 2010
This work is currently available for touring.

‘… ‘Beauty’ … at a subtle distance allowing us to see and feel the power of romantic possibility, the elusive promise of beauty’s ‘ideal’ and the truth in the beauty of being oneself in a way not seen before.’
