Proximal was perhaps the ‘purest’ dance performance that the company has so far produced. A production that for the first time combined video projection as an integral part of the performance.
Proximal was performed in the State Opera of South Australia’s Studio in Netley Adelaide in October 2001.

Proximal exists solely to express in dance a sense of being within one’s body; all the senses, feelings and gestures the body makes with no deliberate intellectual intent.
All production elements reflect on each other, reinforcing a sense of the uninhibited, the instinctive, the personal at its happiest and most positive. Proximal is undoubtedly one of the most moving and stirring Restless Dance productions since Precious.
