British-based choreographer Rob Tannion, Co-Artistic Director Stan Won’t Dance, will be travelling to Adelaide to deliver a Masterclass that offers an insight into the company’s creative and devising processes, done through a careful layering of physical exploration – discovering and examining different ways to devise specific movement material.

Rob is best known for his performances as a member of DV8 Physical Theatre and Russell Maliphant Company. He has international experience working with disabled and non disabled artists, professional performers and community-based artists across performance genres.

Some dance experience is beneficial but not essential. You can check out our Workshops page for more information.

Canberra Dance Theatre is facilitating an event for a range of companies and artists who will introduce their work in the field of Disability Arts. Philip Channells will be the key note speaker at this event, to be followed by a Forum encouraging discussion and exchange of ideas and experiences.

Contributing speakers will include representatives from Candoco Dance Company (UK), The Merry Makers, Dance Chance, Dance Oolites, CDTeens and Radiance Dance Project.

This is an unfunded, first time event conceived in community spirit which will allow people to meet, introduce their work and share their practice. Canberra Dance Theatre extends this invitation in that spirit!

Our multi-award winning dance films have yet again won another award. This time for Best Performance under 30 minutes at the Picture this…film festival in Calgary. The festival features films that are about disability and/or films on any subject that were produced, directed and/or written by people with disabilities. Necessary Games will be screened as part of the festival program on Monday 14 February 2011.
