Australian Performing Arts Market
The Company will also perform a section of Intimate Space at the Australian Performing Arts Market (APAM) in Brisbane next week, February 20th and 21st.
APAM is Australia’s leading, internationally focused industry event for contemporary performing arts. Presenters, promoters and agents from all over the world come to APAM to view the best work that Australia has to offer.
The Showcase of Intimate Space will be performed in the Sofitel Hotel in Brisbane which is where many of the international delegates will be staying. This is a fantastic opportunity for Restless to show the work to national and international festival and venue programmers.
As with the performance of the full work for the Commonwealth Games, Restless will take some dancers from Adelaide and has recruited some local dancers from Brisbane’s IndelABILITY ARTS and seven performers from Gold Coast Recreation and Sport Inc.
Michelle and Roz Hervey have been visiting Brisbane and the Gold Coast to meet with and rehearse the local cast members and to work out how to adapt the work to the local hotels. We are referring to this as the “Collaborative Model” of remounting the work. We also have available the “Residency Model” where Michelle and a small team remount the work with entirely local performers.
