Stephen Noonan

Stephen Noonan is a performance maker. He works across the fields of dance, theatre, puppetry and circus. His first performance with Restless Dance Theatre in 1991 was Fidget and Funk. He went onto perform in IKONS, Love Dances, Sex Juggling, Perfect Match and 2007’s Safe from Harm.
Since 2009 Stephen has primarily worked in the area of making performance work for young audiences. He was a key creator in Australia’s first dance work for babies, This [Baby] Life with Sally Chance Dance. With the company he has gone onto perform in Nursery, Touch and Go, Seashore and Wonder.
Stephen has worked with The PaperBoats on the creation of Especially on Birthdays, which has been performed in Adelaide, Brisbane and U.S.A.
He has performed in Australia, Asia, Europe and America and taught at art institutions in Vietnam, Sweden and at Arts for the Disabled in Hong Kong. As a community arts worker, Stephen was involved in the Arts in the Outback project for a number of years giving remote communities access to dynamic young artists in the form of workshops in dance and music.
Stephen has taught Restless Dance Theatre workshops over many years and credits his association with the company as having a major impact on his own work.
