Give Me Five

Restless is having a Studio Opening on Friday 1st April to launch our Give Me Five fundraising campaign.

Until 9th May 2016, Restless has an incredible opportunity to raise funds for an exciting project as we step into our 25th Anniversary year. The company was successful in attracting dollar for dollar matched funding through the Plus1 program of Creative Partnerships Australia for debut – the dancers direct slated for 2016. What this means is, if we raise our target of $35,000 by 9th May 2016, the Government will match every single dollar. A rare and brilliant opportunity!

debut – the dancers direct
‘debut’ will present a diverse program of short works of dance theatre from emerging directors with a disability from the Senior/Youth ensembles working under the guidance of experienced professional mentors to develop their individual choreographic voices.
‘debut’ will provide an advanced professional development opportunity. The program will nurture and unleash the potential of the artists involved, deepening their understanding of the artistic process – from the beginning of a creative idea to the final curtain call. The ‘debut’ process is inclusive of and responsive to the skills, interests and needs of the emerging disabled choreographers. The directors will be mentored by local choreographers of the highest calibre and work within a framework of process and presentation that is supportive and inclusive.
A season of stunning and diverse short works integrating dancers with and without disability will be created and presented at the new Restless Dance Theatre studio.
As Australia’s leading dance theatre company for young people with a disability aged up to 26 years, ‘debut’ will provide the young directors with the skills and confidence needed to bridge the gap into the professional arts world.
Restless has a new wave of “makers” within the current Youth/Senior ensembles. At least five participants are ripe for the debut experience, your donation and Plus1 doubling your dollar will mean that 5 Restless artists will have this life changing opportunity and a full evening of directorial debuts can be curated.
We invite you to be one of our lead supporters and, at the same time, double your donation dollar! Your donation will go towards artist fees for the guest mentors and support workers, productions costs, marketing, promotion and documentation.
If you would like support Restless please click the donate button. Donations above $2.00 are tax deductible and all will have a huge impact on our future. We are most grateful for your contribution, big or small. A receipt for your donation will be immediately sent to you by email when approved.
THANK YOU SO MUCH. A virtual high five to you!
