We have recently had some great outcomes with our funding. The Australia Council has recently announced the Four Year funding results. Our thoughts are with all our colleagues and their brilliant companies who have been denied support despite the excellent standard of their work.

Restless was fortunately, one of the successful companies and we will receive $300,000 per year for 2017 – 2020. This is a great result for the company in a very competitive environment. However, our delight is tempered by the terrible outcomes for so many other companies. These are dark times indeed for the arts in Australia.

We have also had two other recent successes:

• We received $45,000 through the Capacity Uplift program  – a combined program of the James and Diana Ramsey Foundation and the Sidney Myer Fund. This is to assist the company during the 17/18 and 18/19 financial years
• Thank you to everyone who donated to our Give Me Five campaign and who helped us to reach our target of $35,000. In fact people were so generous that we exceeded the target and raised over $38,000! All the money was matched by Creative Partnerships Australia’s Plus1 Fund. So we were able to proceed with the project: Debut – the dancers direct at the end of 2016.
