Enough is the third and final instalment in a trilogy of bold, disability-led dance works by Restless Dance Theatre. Following Seeing Through Darkness (2020) and Exposed (2022), this new work explores the deeply human question: what does it mean to be “enough”?
Developed with eight professional dancers with disability, Enough will investigate identity, belonging, and personal truth. Returning collaborators Emily Tulloch and Hilary Kleinig will compose the score, and Artistic Director Michelle Ryan—a national leader in disability-led practice—will direct the creative development.
The title Enough carries a dual meaning: it speaks to the quiet, internal realisation that I am enough—worthy and whole as I am—but it also echoes the powerful, frustrated cry that enough is enough, capturing the exhaustion of constantly battling societal expectations.
The work will be created through Restless’ distinctive methodology, where the dancers’ lived experience is not only acknowledged but placed at the heart of the creative process. It will be developed in Restless’ accessible Adelaide studio—a place to create—where disabled artists lead from the centre.
