The Laminex Man

The Laminex Man was devised in collaboration with the performers. It is a work showing different aspects of masculinity, from the iconic ‘HE man’ and ‘brutishness’ of bullies, to the beautiful soft, qualities of these Restless gentle and not so gentle men.

Director’s Note:
‘Like their clothes, the dancers try on different ways of being a man, inhabiting these personas and, in the process, they reveal something of themselves.’

“Despite moments of tenderness, there is always an underlying threat of violence if the fragile boundaries are crossed. Overall, it is a rich and satistying work”Katherine Goode, The Advertiser
