Alex Hurford has had a long career in arts governance and management in South Australia, working at Carclew, and holding senior roles in the South Australian Government, most recently as Principal Advisor, Policy and Programs at CreateSA.

Alex has a strong commitment to, and deep connection with, disability arts and especially Restless Dance Theatre. She worked closely with inaugural director Sally Chance during the company’s earliest days at Carclew and has supported it throughout its 35-year history.

She also led the establishment of the South Australian Government’s nation-leading Richard Llewellyn Arts Deaf and Disability Grants program in 2006.
