Restless Dance Theatre at the International Human Rights Day Symposium: Rights in Action

Restless Dance Theatre is proud to share that our Artistic Director, Michelle Ryan, will be speaking at the upcoming International Human Rights Day Symposium: Rights in Action on Wednesday 10 December 2025.

Hosted at the Evergreen Community Precinct in Clearview, this powerful, one-day event brings together people with disability, their families and allies, service providers, government representatives, and advocates from across Australia.

The symposium is more than a gathering — it’s a call to action. Together, participants will explore what it means to truly embed human rights in everyday life, and how services, policy, and community action can create meaningful change.

Michelle will join a line-up of influential speakers and leaders, sharing her insights as an artist, advocate, and leader in disability-led contemporary dance. Her work with Restless Dance Theatre continually challenges perceptions and champions visibility, agency, and artistic excellence for disabled artists on stage and beyond.

Alongside Michelle, the symposium features a distinguished list of speakers, including:

The day will include keynote presentations, panel discussions, and lived-experience perspectives, exploring how human rights can be realised through culture, policy, and community leadership.

For those unable to attend in person, the event will also be live-streamed via the official B-HART YouTube Channel.
