This year, World Ballet Day celebrates how creativity, collaboration and accessibility shape the future of dance — and we are proud to be part of it.
Restless Dance Theatre has teamed up with The Australian Ballet to present an all-accessible workshop led by our Artistic Director, Michelle Ryan, alongside our incredible Company Dancers. Together, we join a global livestream that connects dance lovers, artists and companies across the world.
Filmed during the DanceX season in Melbourne, Michelle leads The Australian Ballet’s Move, Imagine, Create workshop, exploring how access, imagination and artistry can come together to open new movement possibilities. Our dancers collaborate with The Australian Ballet Principal Artist Brett Chynoweth, the Education and Outreach team, and a group of enthusiastic participants to share an inclusive, joy-filled experience that embodies this year’s theme: Access Becomes Art.
For Restless, accessibility is not an add-on — it is the foundation of exceptional artmaking. We’re thrilled to share this philosophy with a global audience on World Ballet Day 2025 and to stand alongside some of the world’s leading companies in a celebration of what dance can be when everyone is invited in.
