We are proud and honoured to share that we were awarded the CINARS International Collaboration Award for Ècoute Pour Voir – Listen To See at the CINARS Biennale gala in Canada on November 13.
The international collaboration between Résonances – Agence de spectacles, Emmanuel Jouthe – Danse Carpe Diem, Maï(g)wenn et les Orteils and Restless Dance Theatre came about after Restless Artistic Director Michelle Ryan and Creative Producer Roz Hervey attended the CINARS in 2018 and felt moved by the performance and initiated the collaboration. We thank the James & Diana Ramsay Foundation and Australia Council for funding this, now very significant, trip.
“We are thrilled that this international collaboration with Canadian artists has been recognised at CINARS. Roz and I first saw Ècoute Pour Voir- Listen to See at CINARS 2018 and were taken by the intimacy and the generosity of Maï(g)wenn et les Orteils dancers in this beautiful work by Emmanuel Jouthe. It has been an incredible journey collaborating internationally during a pandemic. We thank Yaëlle Azoulay, Resonances Producer for her incredible work behind the scenes and Emmanuel and Maïgwenn for their artistry.” – Michelle Ryan.
Presenting the work at various Australian locations has been a joyous and heart-warming experience. Performing and sharing the three-minute choreographic exchanges one-on-one to audiences, led to beautiful moments of connection, conversation and laughter.
Thank you our international collaborators Résonances – Agence de spectacles, Emmanuel Jouthe – Danse Carpe Diem, Maï(g)wenn et les Orteils and our Australian presenters Dream BIG Festival, WOMADelaide and Flinders Medical Centre.
Thank you to our creative visionaries and incredibly hard-working duo Michelle Ryan and Roz Hervey, and our fabulous dancers; Alexis, Charlie, Darcy, Jianna, Michael, Mike, Madalene and guest artists Isadora, Bhodi & Katherine. Thank you to the James & Dianna Ramsay Foundation for funding our trip to CINARS in 2018 and being part of the birth of this special collaboration.
